Here I go again..
I ordered a bunch of material the other week, including 2 charm packs. It’s the first time I’ve ordered a charm pack, so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I received everything yesterday and can now get working on a new project – Yay!
I’m part of a Quilt Along that Lindsay Conner put together. She created the Quilt Along to coincide with the release of her new book called Modern Bee. I can’t tell you how honored and excited I am to be taking part. You can see more from Lindsay over at her blog Lindsay Sews and also at Craft Buds.
Most of the bloggers in the Quilt Along will be showcasing projects made using the basic block in the book, the Mosaic Tiles block. I’m still figuring out what I’m going to make for my portion of the Quilt Along, but I’ve narrowed it down to a totebag, laptop sleeve or table runner..
The charm packs are from Moda Fabrics. I’m using a charm pack for the simplicity factor and the variety of patterns at a small price. I LOVE everything that Moda Fabrics develops and chose the Sphere collection because of its modern feel and the bright airy colors. I plan to anchor the pattern with a solid blue or light grey, but will have to purchase more fabric and cut strips. If I make the tote or laptop case I hope the blue is dark enough for an “airport” friendly accessory…(I travel a lot for work). I’ve started to lay out my colors AND hope that what I am going to make jumps out at me. I’m thinking I will need to make 2-3 blocks for any of the projects, so I better get going, right??
Stay tuned for more.. I will continue to share as my project moves along. You can also see the final project over at Craft Buds on Monday Jan, 6th.
Until then.. Happy Sewing!
