Workshops! Design Fabric & Sew a Pouch

in Bags and Pouches on 22/09/23

Happy to share that I have a new workshop ready to go. This workshop plays on my free workshop, however, in this class we design 2 different size blocks and then print a fat quarter. The class comes with a workbook and also a new PDF digital sewing pattern called the “Dash Pouch”.

I have been thinking about this Dash Pouch for years (yes, years), so was time to get it finished and out into the world. The Dash Pouch digital pattern come with two sizes – grande and mini. It is a zipper pouch and has a pocket on one side. Both sizes are great for holding all your goodies. Here is a picture of the backside of the pouch.

I have two October 2023 workshop dates and can’t wait to meet everyone who registers. Hosting workshops might be my favorite thing in the world. I love meeting everyone who shows up, hearing about their creative expressions and why the signed up.

Do you want to learn how to block print or are wanting to take your skills to the next level?

Come and join me 🙂

Saturday, October 28 2023 – click here to purchase

  • 2pm – 4pm EST
  • 2 hours
  • Hosted by Marni
  • Live online via Zoom

Need more info? Here are additional details on the course.

  • Cost: $57
  • Workshop Includes New Dash Pouch Pattern
  • Details: Using my simple shapes method and workbook, we will design two stamps and then print a fat quarter with those two stamps. In the class, I will teach how to develop a stamp using my simple shapes method. We will use a workbook. Using simple shapes is a great way to block print b/c it takes away the “what should I design”. It is fun, easy and creates simple, yet complex patterns. In the second half of the workshop, I will then share details on how to print the fat quarter and then cut the pattern pieces. The pouch pattern is included with the class and comes with professional step by step instructions on how to sew the pouch in your one of a kind fabric. You sew the pouch after the class. I will not be teaching “how to sew the pouch” in this class.
  • Included: Block Printing Workbook and “Dash” Digital PDF Pattern. Note – The digital pattern includes step by step instructions and pattern templates.

  • No recording: Class will not be recorded. Participants must show up via zoom and attend the class. Camera does not need to be turned on.

This class is for the adventurous beginner. A few more details:

  • No sewing will be taught during this online class.
  • Some sewing experience is needed for sewing the pattern. You must also know the basics and how to read pattern instructions. The digital pattern is provided with the class and the pouch is to be sewn sewn after the class.
  • Blocking printing basics will be taught in the class – How to use your materials, how to design & carve the blocks and then print fabric ( Fun! )
  • How to layout your design on the fat quarter will be taught.
  • Fabric Ink will need to dry before sewing the pouch ( at least 48 hours is recommeneded). Dry time depends many factors.

Instagram said I have to start making reels. So he Instagram said I have to start making reels. So here I am mildly uncomfortable, half heartedly participating. The “Next Best Chapter” is playing in the background, because apparently this is it.
