Happy Friday!
The other day my husband asked me what I would buy if I was given a $25 gift card to a fabric store. I knew right away and said FAT QUARTERS! I love fat quarters. I think I might even be a bit of a fat quarter hoarder.
So I went to Joann’s and tested out how many I could buy for $25. I bought 11 fat quartes. Not as many as I would have liked, but still enough to add to my stash. Note to self – wait for a sale and get even more! The colors are all above. Very pretty and flexible in design. I like buying different patterns. When inspiration comes chugging along, I always have enough fabric available for a variety of projects – baby, home goods and/or apparel. Some of the patterns were so awesome that I bought them in duplicates.
I love the versatility of a fat quarter. Measuring 18″ x 22″ – we get more fabric in that 1 little piece than if we cut fabric from the bolt. Have you thought about it that way?
I am traveling alot in the month of August, so my sewing projects have to be easy and light. I like the idea of using a fat quarter or 2 for a sewing project. How about you? Take a look, I even created a category just for fat quarters.. Smile.
Stay tuned.. In the coming weeks I plan to share many projects featuring fat quarters as the main ingredient!
Happy Sewing.
So true. I love fat quarters as well
Just saw your other project on the DIY wine tote. Love that you made it out of 1 fat quarter.. A cheap and a fun project!
