I was cleaning out my closet yesterday and stumbled across an Art Nouveau book.
I bought the book in 2003 when I was studying abroad at the University of Westminster in London, England. I was in my 3rd year of fashion design and very fortunate to spend 6 months studying in one of the most exciting cities in the world. I remember wandering through the streets being overjoyed and inspired by everything I saw. I think I attended each museum at least 3 times.
At the time I became infatuated with Art Nouveau, The Glasgow School of Art, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.. basically anything from that time period. Yesterday was a happy day to to to have come across the book and the images it contained.
Here are a few of designs that I love:
I have been wanting to do another freezer paper/ totebag project. I love the using freezer paper to create bold and modern prints. Finding this book was serendipitous!!
Stay tuned as I share a fun tutorial on freezer paper and Art Nouveau images.
