Halloween Inspiration 2013

in Inspiration on 28/10/13

This week is going to be all about Halloween. However, I’m glad it is almost over. I have been stewing about the big day for so long that I’ve almost self combusted.

Today will be short and sweet – I’m going to show a little inspiration for Tanner’s Halloween costume. This photo was taken while we were back home in September. My brother is an artist and had a booth at the local Comic Con. We went to help out in his booth, walk around and take in all the craziness.  It was our fist time at an event like this and a lot of fun.

Ok, I know that Iron Man and Storm Troopers don’t mix. LOL. But we had to dress Tanner up, right?  So can you guess what he is going to be for Halloween? I will give you a hint. The color is orange, the person flies an X-wing and has a pesky droid as a companion.

That’s all I’m saying.. Stop by on Wednesday and I will show the costume. Ps. It is pretty darn cute. While my husband didn’t totally understand what I was making, he sure likes it now!  We got to test drive the costume yesterday and he kept telling me how impressed he was.

There won’t be a full DIY tutorial for his costume this year.  I thought alot about it, but I had no idea how I was going to show the steps.  If you want to see Tanner’s costume from last year, check out his Baby Batman costume here.

Until Wednesday, Happy sewing.

You’re still far ahead of me; we borrowed costumes from the neighbors this year. Can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with — I’m sure it’ll be great!

I had major anxiety over this one! I started thinking about the costume in June and almost didn’t make.. Finally bought the fabric on Sat and made myself complete it. I understand borrowing – I can only imagine sewing for 2, plus sewing for a blog and everything else that goes on!! It’s a lot.

Can’t wait to see your little red 5. We just added a baby boy to the family so there will be many star wars costumes to come. My twins were fighting over our one Leia costume but worked out a rotation schedule… No new mommy made costumes this year!

I can only image Halloween costumes for 3 kids! That’s awesome about Leia.. I remember wanting to be her when I was little!

I made the most glorious little Kraft-tex journal I made the most glorious little Kraft-tex journal cover over the holidays. Not only do I love the color of the month for December (blue turquoise), but the texture of my journal is like aged leather and looks durable and rugged. Did you know Kraft-tex is actually paper??? My cover was simple to make and is just one rectangular piece of Kraft-tex, folded over at the ends and topstitched. Thats it.❤️

What a fun class! Thank you to the participants in What a fun class! Thank you to the participants in my first zoom block printing class. It was an amazing group of people coming together with a common goal - sharing their love of print and pattern design.

My hubby snapped a few pictures during the workshop. I’m normally a “hider outer”, but thought this was a perfect opportunity to say Hi. Even if it is looking down and away from the camera. 🤪

I will be hosting another block printing zoom workshop mid January. Come one come all. DM or email me for details.
