I’m always a mess around Teacher Appreciation week. I’m crafty and I sew, but every year I’m late into the game and then buy donuts, muffins, flowers and a gift card.
Of course I waited until the last minute this year. However, I purposely backed myself into a corner that I couldn’t get out of… I asked the teachers their favorite color and word and said I would have a surprise.
The fun part – the teachers gave typical favorite words like “Love, Joy, Happy…” but I left it up to my 5 year old son to chose the word we would make. He was happy we chose happy.
These are so easy to make! Check out my post called “Make Fun Canvas Pencil Cases” for more details.
Materials needed:
- Cotton canvas for the outside
- Cotton fabric for the lining
- Colorful zipper
- Natural cotton twill tape
- Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Sewing supplies and sewing machine
- Olfa rotary cutter, quilting ruler and mat
- Silhouette machine
- Iron and ironing board
I added little twill tape tabs this time around. I love how they look.
We stuffed the pouches full of chocolate and were good to go.
Happy Sewing everyone!
