Spring has sprung!
Well, at least with the colors and patterns seen at the Atlanta Apparel Mart this past weekend.. My company has a booth in the footwear studio. It is a great opportunity to see what wholesale companies are shipping right now and booking for next fall. My head usually explode from all the cool stuff I see.
The following are my top 3 color and pattern combinations:
Black/corals – This combination is bold and bright. The coral is supercharged and has a hit of caffeine. Why not use the coral as a color pop in your sewing — add to a project as your lining, trim or binding detail.
Greens/Blues – Hello emerald green, pantone color for 2013!! Hello mint. I’m not so sure about mint. This has never been much of a hit with me, but this color is everywhere right now. Shades of blue and green will jazz up any room. They also transition well into late summer, so make a pillow or 2 already!
Chevron, Chevron, Chervon – The zig zag pattern isn’t slowing down. Zig zag was in every fashion booth. This print is a great option to update a room for a fresh modern look. Use the fabric for pillows, bedding, table runners, etc.. The list goes on. It is even a great pattern for a baby’s room.
Happy Sewing.
