The other day I was shopping at Joann Fabrics. Again.. I was in the zone, minding my own business searching for the perfect color in a metal zipper. The zips are for upcoming projects. I have a few Lotta Jansdotter canvas pouch tutorials that are anxiously waiting to be completed…
Issue #38 of Mollie Makes stopped me in my tracks. I am a sucker for a free gift and this issue had the cutest offering.
Of course I bought it… I am also a sucker for small little things and awesome fabric. I’m trying to curtail my extensive fabric store purchases, but ha.. Mollie Makes got me again.
The “Rosehip” fabric Mollie Makes provided intrigued me. I googled the designer, Silkie Lloyd, as soon as I got home. I’m a little shocked I haven’t heard of her. Her designs are whimsical, playful and right up my alley. She is a very accomplished artist working for companies such as Waterstones, the V&A and Harrods. I studied abroad in London for a semester while at University, so all this got me salivating! I am yearning to go back and visit my old haunts.
Zip completed! If you need a quick project, want to learn to sew a zipper or add ric rak trim to an item.. Try this one out.. You’ll have it finished in under 3o mins.. Check out Mollie Makes and give one of their projects a go. You’ll probably get hooked. But please don’t blame me, blame Mollie Makes. Ok?
