Addicted To Pincushions

in Just for Fun on 21/02/14

Pincushions come in all shapes and sizes. To me, the more useful or unique the better…

I have one pincushion that I absolutely love.  It came from my Grandmother. It was given to me a few years before she passed away and holds such special memories. Not only does it remind me of my childhood and visiting her apartment, but it brings back memories of my Grandmother. I’m not sure how old it is, but my Mom and I think it dates back to the 1950’s. Here are a few pictures. The little guy is in pretty great shape!

I’m too afraid to use it, so it sits high on a shelf safe from toddler hands. I’ve recently thought about attempting to make a version that I can actually use… If I ever get around to it, I’ll let you know.

Well, just a little inspiration today. I’m almost finished with my trade shows and travels.  I can’t wait to get back into the DIY swing of things!

Have a great weekend.

This is too cute! I love this!
I have way too many pincushions and I love making more from fabric scraps. Although I barely use them, they make cute gift tags.
