Pincushions – What do yours look like?

in Sewing Tips & Tricks on 28/03/13

I was looking at my blog posts the other day and noticed my pincushions.. They are jammed FULL of pins – all different sizes and colors.

I’m not sure if it means they are well used and loved or just plain ugly.

I used to stick them in the arm rest of our couch.  It drove my husband crazy. But I always thought it meant a happy sewer lives there. My Mom did it when I was growing up and so I continued the tradition.  I made myself stop when I was pregnant, so that by the time the baby came I had broken the habit and our house would be safe and sewing tools out of reach.

So, it got me thinking, what do your pincushions look like? Well used and worn or neat and tidy?  Have you ever used the arm rest of your couch?

Test print and then fabric. Are you an all over ra Test print and then fabric. Are you an all over random print or a linear structured print person?

I always say to myself that I’m going to create a random print and then go straight for a structured layout.
