Quick Tip.. Magnetic Pin Caddy

in Sewing Tips & Tricks on 08/10/13

Have you seen this little guy at your local sewing store?  Do you have little hands in your house? A baby crawling around or toddler tearing the place apart..? I do.

Nowadays I need to be super vigilant about where I leave my sewing supplies, especially my pins. The old me lost pins everywhere. They could be found in the grout on the bathroom floor or stuck to the armrest of our couch.. The new me crawls on my belly scouring the floor for stray little pins. When our toddler is waking from his nap, it’s a mad rush making sure all my sewing stuff is tucked safely away.

I’ve wanted one of these magnetic pin holders for years. For some reason I never bought one. A few weeks ago I finally made the plunge.. I’m sure glad that I did!

I use this ALL the time.. One quick swipe over my working surface or the floor and ta-da!! Pins be gone.  My previously misplaced pins are held safe and tight. My husband can now rest easy and I can sew easy.. Now I need another one for my ironing board, one for my desk, one for the garage and one as back up..

Next time you are at the store, I suggest you pick one up. They are made by Dritz. I bought mine when the notions were half off.  Smile.

Happy Sewing.
