DIY.. Colorful Dish Towel Tote Bags

in Bags and Pouches, DIY Projects on 29/04/14

I’m over at Momtastic today sharing a fun and funky totebag tutorial.. It’s super easy and a great beginner sewing project. The totebags are made from kitchen dish towels!

Sew totebags from kitchen towels

There are so many colorful dish towels available – I bought a set at IKEA for under $5.00.  West Elm, Crate & Barrel and World Market also have colorful and sometimes quirky kitchen towels – perfect for a tote. And hey, you can make two totebags for the price of one!

Just a few materials needed – Dish towels, webbing, your sewing machine and sewing supplies..

Ready, Set, Sew.. It’s as easy as that, I promise. Plus no need to add a lining to the tote bag. The dish towel seams are already finished. Hello fun!

Let me know how it goes and I’d love to see pictures of your totes! Happy sewing and have a great day.

We should host a dish towel challenge! I actually bought a few a while back with wonderful watermelons printed on them and had plans to conjure something up, then entirely forgot about it until I saw this post. 🙂
