Every time I go out I tell myself that I’m going to make a sparkly pouch to hold all my stuff. Then I wake up and life happens.
My Silhouette Challenge buddies and I are all sharing projects “Holiday” themed projects on our blogs today. Plus there’s a giveaway.
So with this challenge and holiday parties looming on the horizon, making a sparkly evening pouch was a real possibility this year.
Materials:
- Silhouette Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Silhouette Cameo or Portrait
- Silhouette materials
- Black canvas fabric
- Zipper – Zipit Zippers on Etsy have great prices and an awesome selection
- Sewing machine and supplies
- Iron and ironing board
I love how the triangles turned out. Don’t they look great in the glitter vinyl?
I bought the design quite awhile ago and have been waiting for a project to use it on. The design is called “Triangles Page Mat”and is designed by Sarah Hurley / Design ID #56843. Head to the Silhouette Design Store for more of her great designs.
There are a gazillion heat transfer vinyl tutorials out there. Before you get started, here are a few key things to consider..
- Place the vinyl with the glitter side facing down on the mat.
- I like the following cut settings:: Blade 4, Speed 4 and Thickness 19.
- Weed carefully.
- Place the film/vinyl on your fabric so that the glitter faces up.
- Use a pressing cloth on top of the film..
- Press with a hot iron in one place for 45- 60 seconds.
- Use a firm hand and press down on the iron.
- Gently pull the film away. If some of the glitter comes away from the fabric, place the film back down and press again.
- No steam.
- Be careful when pulling the film away – it can be hot!
