A collaboration with www.modes4u.com

in Bags and Pouches, DIY Projects on 26/02/20

I recently collaborated with the online fabric store www.modes4u.com. They let me pick a few yards of glorious fabric from their online store and in return I was to sew a project with it.

Have you checked out their online store? They have an amazing assortment of fabric, plus tons of little trinkets and cute stuff. I especially LOVE their canvas fabric.

I have always wanted to sew with Japanese fabric and chose fabric designed by Etsuko Furuyathe and under the brand Echino.

I am in love with this fabric! I love the abstract mountains and while my images don’t translate it well, there are hints of metallic in the print.

Within the Echino collection, I also chose the black canvas and dark blue canvas with metallic dots. Aren’t the bold colors great? Plus, the colors mix and match perfectly. If you want to sew a collection of items, I would buy a few yards from the Echino brand. Prefer a red or yellow?? Fret not. They have other colors available if these don’t work for you.

The handles and lining of the bag are the black canvas metallic dots.

The dark blue metallic dots fabric was perfect for a little pouch. The little pouch is a PDF pattern of mine called the Curvy Zipper Pouch and you can find many sewing tutorials for it here on my blog. Here is the first tutorial for the pouch and a follow up tutorial is also available. You can purchase the pattern in my online store.

The bag pattern is from Noodle-head and is called the Redwood Tote. This was my first time sewing with a Noodle-Head pattern. What a blast! The pattern instructions were laid out nicely and very detailed. Plus her steps were super easy to follow. Can’t wait to make another tote!

Happy Sewing!
