Curvy Zipper Pouch Pattern

in DIY Projects, Patterns on 11/10/16

I’ve promised and promised the curvy zipper pouch pattern for months.

HaberdasheryFun Curvy Zip1

Thank you to everyone for the comments and requests for the pattern. It warms my heart that the pattern has been requested by so many of you! The pattern is now available to purchase in my online store. Please see my original blog post for the sewing tutorial.

I appoligze for taking so long to release the pattern to you. I had a baby boy last March.  As wonderful and exciting as a new baby can be, my life has been crazier than anticipated! I’m not sure how I thought I would have extra time on my hands once the baby came. Add a busy 4 year old plus going back to work, and let’s say I’ve been swamped.

I love this pouch. I’ve made a bunch for my friends and family. It’s very handy! With a new baby in our house, I’m finding its’s the perfect size to use as a diaper clutch.  It holds a few diapers and assorted baby items.

Head over to my original blog post for the full tutorial. I love hearing from you, leave a comment and let me know how it goes. If you share your sewing on social media, please share the love and use the following hashtags – #haberdasheryfunpatterns, #curvyzipperpouch, #haberdasheryfun

Awesome fabric right? It’s called “Koi”. it is designed by Rashida Coleman-Hale and is produced by Cloud Nine Fabrics.

Happy sewing! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Marni: Thanks for the pattern; your work is really appreciated. Could you tell me what is the best size zipper to use for this?

    Thanks,
    Rusty

      Hi Rusty,

Thanks for the comment – you could use a 12″ zipper or a 14″ would also work and cut it down slightly.
let me know how it goes.

Thank you so much for the nice pattern. I’m thinking of sewing handles to the front sides, do you think that would be possible? Take care

      Hi Claudia,

You could make insert a strap into the side seam – this tutorial has the side seam strap.

I think you could sew handles onto the front and back, but probably after the zipper is sewn in. You would have to adjust the lining and work around the lining. Let me know if you sew this version. I’d love to see it.

Marni, I do believe I have some of the worst timing. I just found your pin for binding, and it’s got to be just what I was looking for. Now, even I can make it. Thank you so much for your assistance. Then, the curved bag got my attention because of the koi fabric. My sister has gotten back into sewing (but this time, she’s doing it all by hand!) and her first garment was made with the koi fabric. Then I saw the bag pattern, got excited, saw the date and thought “Well, that figures.”. I will be sticking by your tutorials because they are perfect for me. They remind me of that series of books that were _____ for dummies. lol What is the cost of the pattern and where can I order it from? My sis even has some fabric left.

      Hi Cheryl,

Thanks fro the comment – I have been in the middle of a cross country move, so the pattern has still been up. I’m assuming that you found it and downloaded it :). I will be adding a pattern shop to my blog very soon.

    Hello,

I love your tutorial and would love the pattern! Is it still free or how much is it to purchase and when? I am on a very, VERY tight budget this year, have our third little due in January but want to make my husbands little cousins gifts and think the girls would love these as makeup bags!

Please let me know, thanks so much!
