I found the web designer — Libby Heasman of Crimson Pear  in an online blog community.  She and I have been working together for the last 5 months on my logo and the… View Post

Zipper Love..

in Inspiration on 13/11/12

Zipper, zip, zippers..  There’s no way to say it,  but just that I love a good zipper.  I appreciate a designer who can add that special touch with something like a zipper.  Colorful zippers with metal teeth are my #1 and exposed zippers are my #2 favorites these days. Exposed zippers have been a big trend in the last year or so..  For a sewer or someone… View Post

My husband’s cousin just had a baby girl.  She is overjoyed about their new arrival!  While I was shopping for their registry present at www.giggle.com and I found these super cute, colorful outfits called “Giggle Better Basics”.  They are stylish basics for both boys and girls and come in bold, striped patterns… I always love a bold pattern!   Inspired by the trendy color combinations, I decided to… View Post

Happy Halloween everyone.. I was super inspired to make our 9 month old’s Halloween costume this year.  I thought a vintage Adam West Batman was in order. Not only would this be fun to attempt to make.. It would be the perfect 1st Halloween costume for the little person in our family. Have you ever watched the TV show The Big… View Post

Amy Butler Rocks

in Inspiration on 26/10/12

I was trying to think of a title for my post on an inspiring person.. The easiest one that came to mind was “Amy Butler Rocks“. Have you seen her fabrics? patterns? thread? books? stationery? handbags?? wallpaper..!??  Need I say more.  No.  Her stuff is incredible.  I have been sewing with her fabrics AND watching her business grow for many years.  Over the years she has expanded into… View Post

Spooky & Fun Halloween Table Runner

in Applique on 24/10/12

I am a new Mom to an 8 month old baby boy.  He has turned my world upside down in a great way. While I have always loved the holidays – Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc..  I have never approached them in a “decorating” kind of way.   With the little person now in our house,  I am filled with excitement at the thought of creating special… View Post

Inspired by bold graphic prints..

in Inspiration on 10/10/12

The best way to update a room is with a sewing machine, fabric and a project or two.. That being said, I have been looking for the perfect fabric to sew a slipcover for the Poang Ikea rocking chair in our nursery.  Our nursery is primarily white,  so a pop of color or a bold print would really stand out.  I usually go for prints that are timeless and… View Post

Hello Zig Zag

in Color on 01/10/12

Hello Zig Zag!! Yes, the zig zag pattern can now be seen everywhere… Some may be growing tired of it, while others may be just jumping on board.  I still love this pattern.  It can add a pop of modern color to any room in the form of a throw pillow, storage bin, table runner or even a headboard.  The best part is when you sew the… View Post

Easy DIY: Update your hubby’s button up shirt

in Inspiration on 01/07/12

My husband is a lover of plaid button down shirts. He owns 1 too many. He looks pretty great in them, but I find them so boring! The other day he asked me what we could do to update them… Agh-Ha! Cheaper than buying new ones. I gave a few options, but he didn’t want me to make drastic cut and sew… View Post
